PulseAudio can crash for many different reasons, so it is not certain all
reporters have the same root cause.
Looking at the latest log (from jcolton), it seems to get stuck in an endless
loop of rewinds. After a while, this crazy thing happens:

I also had the issue that dpkg stucks yesterday whith the message
"reconfiguring Samba...". I solved this problem with the following command:
"sudo restart smbd"
IMHO there is a problem in the samba package, and that will be an other bug
than this crashing package index bug.

I made a similar observation. My machine runs Lucid and mainline
2.6.35.4 never showed a mouse cursor.
The test kernel made it appear and now even 2.6.35.4 works correctly.
I did however *not* install any updates (xorg,...) that could explain
that.
Could this mean that booting the test
Wasn't arbitraty. But it incorrectly considered a Host: header without
port as no port specified and then fell back on vport or socket port in
order.

Since plymouth relies on the kernel drm drivers for rendering splash
screens, this would appear to be a bug in the radeondrmfb driver rather
than plymouth itself. Reassigning to the kernel package.

following errors. I have ia32-libs installed, but the loader is trying
to load the 64-bit ones.

Looking at a git clone of the tcsh package from the debian upstream, the
problem exists there too.
Here's a patch against the upstream file; could be just as easily
