Hi All,
I've just recently install Ubuntu 10.04 and am a DELL E6410 user. I am facing
the blank screen on Live CD, and post install and found the only way to get it
working is to add boot options "nomodeset xforcevesa" which then works fine in
X.
I've been following this bug thread with great i
I don't think it is just btrfs. I am using XFS on top of software raid 1
in Maverick, and if I am doing any disk I/O (e.g. a big copy) dpkg will
take a very long time to unpack. Stopping the disk I/O often won't solve
the problem (maybe patience will).

I believe I've wasted your time.
I did some intensive digging on this and discovered that all signs point
to a hardware issue on one of the SCSI buses. MySQL appeared to be the

can also activate by manually adding the PPA with this co
This was my experience as well - upgraded from Lucid and _no_ GSettings
backend was installed, so no prefs were ever saved until I manually
installed libdconf0.

need to be reproduced on 0.24 (which is still under heavy development).
