Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: pulseaudio
I’ve just upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10, and was left with no audio. I
fiddled with the audio settings a bit, and suddenly the audio started
working, but in a garbled way.
The following command, however, works perfectly.
speaker-test -c2 -l1

gbhuvanesh, can you verify that all inputs and outputs are working well
with model=auto? If so, I'll ask upstream to remove the quirk for your
hardware.

Could this be a duplicate of bug #492782 ?
Is the patch related just to Intel drivers or could it be made to fix similar
issues on Nvidia and ATI cards also?

Ok, next time I will read bug report more carefully.
Actually, I did some compiling and testing with unzip60-alt-iconv-
utf8.patch on latest unzip_6.0-4 in ubuntu10.10 and unzip works
reasonably well (at least -O option does it's job as it did in 5.52).

With Firefox 3.6.10 in Maveric it hangs for some seconds 10-15 and then
displays the page ok, no gnome-panel or Metacity crashes. So it is much
better now. :)

I can confirm comment #137 by Marcos Vinícius. The problem did not
affect me before I updated to Maverik.
Also, I noticed that xdotool click 1 (xdotool is a X11 macro
processor) does not work either. So the problem must lie somewhere
within XOrg.
