I have this same issue but on a server I recently upgraded to Maverick.
The net-device-added seems to be lost. Resulting in certain NFS mounts
not being mounted (show stopper for me).

Unfortunately the bug you are reporting to is different, since I don't have
PulseAudio installed.
It seems to me more kernel driver related, the driver itself fails to
initialize CS8427 chip (S/PDIF) through I2C bus, so it quits.

on Ubuntu 10.04 minimal install (no gnome, only console).
I can see the board detected using lspci, but looking at dmesg output I get the

After upgrading to 10.10, I found I am experiencing the same issue I've
seen before in some of the previous versions of Ubuntu. Basically the

suspend, the nm-applet icon is missing from the notification area. The
space for it is still there, but there is no icon and I cannot interact
