It seems I kinda broke it the other day. After adding the command to
the /etc/rc.local file it stopped working. I had also removed linux-
modules-source. Anyway it's working again but I can't use the rc.local
file to initialize it on boot up. So anytime i reboot I've gotta enter
that command.
Also affected by this bug. Particularly irritating when resume from
suspend, which I do a few times a day generally. Most of the times the
network is unreachable for a number of seconds, so I guess that's the
cause for it.

This bug report looks like just advertising for an other soft (Is it a
very friendly action?)
Remarks :
- the official presentation of this soft doesn't say clearly that texmakerx is
a fork of texmaker and we don't know exactly what are the difference between
the fork and the original program;
-
It does not affect gcalctool. It only affects Checkbox System

Maybe you can run the apport-collect and contribute some system
information to this bug? Unfortunately I can't because I am not running
it on a production system and not on a separate testing system and it's
not clear to me, what data will be collected there.

Vince,
There are a few people working on this over on the digitemp google group linked
above - including a small monetary reward for getting this sorted out. May be
worth a look but I think you're onto what the problem is.
