Looks like the problem was that my partition was full. I had to remove some of
the packages and was able to complete. If someone can confirm this, I guess

was killing tracker-indexer, and then indexing simply stops.

OS condition: vanilla install.
Description:
Gnome panel (top and bottom) unclickable after pressing Fn+up or Fn+down for
increase and decrease brigh
After all these years is the only solution really to remove some ram?
This is a joke. Can't believe this hasn't been fixed yet. That said,
removing 1/2 my RAM fixed this issue. Incredible.

Thanks for the patch, I've removed the tag as it's used for SRU
verification and this bug isn't yet in -proposed so there is nothing to
fix.
We (or rather I) are currently trying to figure out whether it's a good
idea to get 2.05 released and pushed into maverick or should I just
backport a bunch

BTW, I don't recommend running sudo make install on e2fsprogs. When I
attempted to reboot, the system didn't recognise the new fsck and hence
would only mount root in read-only mode. (Oddly enough, fsck still ran
fine.) I had to boot from a live CD, chroot to my broken partition, and
reinstall e2fs
