Pascal De Vuyst was very kind pointing me in the right direction (as you can
see in Question 131966, linked at the top of this page). It seems that I needed
a symlink for the driver to work.

When clicking on the clock applet positioned on a panel with bottom
orientation, the time/weather/calendar window shows up as if the clock
applet is in a top panel.

Everytime I try to add a news feed to Rhythmbox, I keep getting the
following error message:
"There was a problem adding this podcast: Unable to parse the feed
contents. Please verify the URL:
http://video.nationalgeographic.com/...predation.html. Would you like to
add the podcast feed anyway?"

but I'm still experiencing problems with my touchpad,
If I run:

I got:

You're right - we have no idea what diktats we're going to comply with
over the next decade, or how they will impact on the fonts and various
scripts. So, while we should constantly strive to keep the metrics
stable, I have no doubt that we will be forced to make changes to them -
either to fix

sorry for late response, at first I did not have the time to upgrade to
Maverick and then I wanted to play with it a few times to see how it
behaves.
I am happy to report that I wasn't able to reproduce the issue, so
