I had this problem too (and have had it in other themes before).
The culprit is usually the settings for the gnome-panel in the gtkrc
file for the theme. In this case, commenting out these two lines:

Doesn't work with 260.19.12 either. I'm using 173 from Jockey, they
should have been updated recently in order to support X 1.9, so they
should work a little better than 256 (which if I remember correctly lag
with X 1.9).

I don't think this is a dmraid issue (since I've removed dmraid and the
bug persists). However, since my LVM partitions are generating these
errors I wonder if it could be that certain partition formats (LVM and

OK. I finally have a good fix for this issue. I've recompiled the kernel
with the Radeon driver compiled into the kernel (not as a module)
without the KMS. This boots into a system that goes to sleep just fine
and the graphics look sharp too. The desktop icons are a bit big but

can attach a volume with UEC (10.10 metal and 10.10 instance).
If you issue a `shutdown -r now` within the instance, the volume will be
attached after the reboot... just spent about 8 hours getting that far!

Dismissing my comment #86. I re-tested 2.6.34 kernel and its seems to work good
for now. So, confirming regression start at 2.6.35 branch.

Impress also affected by this. Turning off anti-aliasing helped a bit
(Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org -> View -> uncheck 'Use anti-
aliasing'.

/~kernel-ppa/mainline works with the module=lenovo-sky trick. So the
breaking patch is between it and .35.

Fixed with updated hwpack that contains ppa u-boot:
hwpack_linaro-imx51_20101110-0_armel_unsupported.tar.gz
Now boots to shell prompt. Bug should remain open until official u-boot
is updated to include fix. But not a showstopper for release.
