KMS works and kernel change the resolution to the correct one. But seems
xorg-xserver-video-intel can not recognized the graphic chip so that X
uses fbdevhw driver.

Mystery deepens. i had a spare partition so I tried a clean install.
It worked! So I turned on the proprietary FGLRX driver. It (setting
monitors to be non-mirror) stopped working. So I removed the driver in
Administration-Additional Drivers. It worked again.

Verification done on Karmic but partial on Lucid

Hello,
With the new kernel release available on Ubuntu Natty (2.6.37-2) I'm not
able to use my Ralink rt2860 wireless card. I already had this kind of
bug on Lucid (bug #496093) and on Maverick (bug #594866) but a
workaround was found. This workaround doesn't work here.
Accepted linaro-image-tools into maverick-proposed, the package will
build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback
here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for

After further testing, I can reproduce this 100% of the time with the following
setup:
1) Laptop with external display attached and setup with xrandr (So 2 monitors
running)
2) Put laptop to sleep
3) Disconnect external monitor
4) Wake laptop
I am still experiencing this lockup at other times,

I am a bit confused by the comments: The last comments about the long delays
(20-30 min!) was made with 2.6.32-20, a pre-release kernel. There was a fix
about lost MSI-X interrupts in 2.6.32-23.37 and two more in the current
proposed kernel (2.6.32-26.46), but those seem to address a netpoll
This was the same in Evolution few month ago, i was unable to insert an
image from a smb share (i've lost the bug id :( ). And it's fixed now. A
fix for firefox won't be too difficult

I have the same issue in 10.10 maverick meerkat with a Medion Medion MD9580-F.
I added this to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub:
speedstep_lib.relaxed_check=1 speedstep_smi.smi_port=0xb2
speedstep_smi.smi_cmd=0x82 speedstep_smi.smi_sig=1
After update-grub and rebooting I now have

with a new kernel (2.6.37-2). The workaround no longer works :-/

Yes, it is reproducible.
When you have a newly installed Ubuntu, you can run the System -
Administration - System Testing and see that the mic test fails because you
cannot hear what you recorded. Of course, you can run any sound recording
program and verify it also.
