The kernel parameters below initiate the internal lcd and enalbe x in a way
that you can use the laptop.
I started over in vesa mode with desktop effects enabled -> got window
decoration working and stuff but only in low quality and very slow.
External monitors are also not working at the

I am running Ubuntu 11.04 from a USB stick on a Dell Vostro V13. I
notice that right clicking on applets in the upper panel doesn't work.
E.g. I wanted to change the clock from a 12 hour format to a 24 hour
clock, but right clicking on the clock app
Ok, so all seems to start, that's already a first step :)
And when you start like that, manually, once done, you don't see compiz and
unity on vt7?
You don't have any segfault then, if you switch back to vt1, the process is
still hanging and running, isn't it?

Seb, No, libindicate isn't on the short list for gtk3 builds. However,

yesterday. Since then every time the kernel was loaded 12 seconds later
I got the login screen as I am used to. And this with a slow intel atom

As mentioned in #9, $ akonaditray just yields an error message, but no
icon visibly appears (neither in the systray, nor elsewhere).
Before fuddling around with PPA-versions (that from my experience tend
to produce more then to solve problems), I would prefer to know what the

Yes now it is working, rollbacked every sarvatt package to the natty
version and get the unity desktop. Looks a bit slower than unity 10.10
on thinkpad x41 with intel i915 but it is running. Thank you
