fresh installation (on normal IDE hard disk, not a VM install). The

My experience is similar to John's experience from 12/17/2010
I had to log into the "Classic" desktop for Ubuntu 11.04 apply a few
updates, then reboot a few times to try to get back into the "Default"
desktop. At present the Unity bar and panel have returned, it's almost
impossible to see wording

I use the desktop environment LXDE (provided by lubuntu-desktop 1.207)
on a Maverick amd64 system. A few days ago, lxpanel (package version
0.5.6-0ubuntu2) crashed and automatically restarted. After that,
Filezilla (package version 3.3.3-1ubuntu
It's automounted. I found that it was all of my backups made by
backintime that would not copy. They are simply backups of the home
folder so I'm not sure what could be happening there or what to look
for. I ended up having to move them to a separate location and archiving
the rest of the drive, wh

The logout/power button can easily be removed from the panel but, the only way
to restore it is to edit the appropriate config file. Could this not be
available in the Add/Remove Panel option.
