I guess it is a long slow process to get USB devices like webcams to
work in Linux. Still the cam does work with Cheese and native Skype.

Charlie: No, I can't reliably reproduce this, and I can't give clear
information on what I was doing to cause the crash. There were several
opened pdf files (like the one here:
http://www.admin.ch/ch/d/sr/c142_20.html I don't know exactly which,
directly opened from Firefox) and when I switched bac
