better. However, it seems that you are not using a software package provided
by the official Ubuntu repositories (bouml 0:4.23-2). Because of this the
Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug.
LSI's support engineer indicated the OOPS (included in the syslog
snippet attached previously) did indeed indicate a kernel bug. For what
it's worth, installing 2.6.36.3-natty from the Ubuntu mainline kernels
PPA appears to have cured the hang.

There are a number of factors in play here. btrfs is not production
ready in the Maverick kernels, it is slow in general and very slow in
the face of an fsync centric load. Btrfs was enabled in the installer
as an experimental feature, as a technology preview, and as such it is
not likely anyone
We are currently moving the Natty kernel up to v2.6.38-rcN. Once we
have any kind of stability there it would be good to get btrfs
performance retested; before then we are likely wasting the testing
time.

Since natty, most postinst scripts fail when run by either PackageKit or
the QApt Worker. These failures never occur when running under apt-get
or synaptic, but since both PackageKit and QApt fail identically, and at
the least
VirtualBox in Seamless mode is the only app I use that makes this happens.
Any indicator, including the Sound, messaging and session ones.

The patch in question has hit mainline in v2.6.38 and therefore will be
in the next Natty kernel (once it is stable enough to upload). Moving
Fix Committed for Natty, Maverick testing is still required as per
Seth's last comment.

And I've just realized that right clicks in empty spaces in the gnome panel
doesn't open the context menu.
So it seems it's something related to gnome-panel, not indicator-applet.

Indicator menus won't open when a VirtualBox
