I've been experiencing random freezes (with the caps lock LED blinking,
which I think means kernel panic) with both 2.6.38-5 and 2.6.38-6 - I
installed natty at *-5, so I don't know when this might have started,
but 2.6.35 in maverick didn't suffer from this.

To get the log from the unity-panel-service you can do this:
$ killall unity-panel-service ; /usr/lib/unity/unity-panel-service
It might take a couple tries as Unity will try to restart it. Your
shell needs to be faster :)

Okay, so after investigating the code a bit it seemed that we had to be
getting a view-closed signal from BAMF. Took a dbus-monitor log and
found out that BAMF is infact sending a stray view closed signal.

I had my co-worker bring his laptop in with the rebooting problem just
to check it. He was wrong when he told me the issue is fixed. I tried
shutting it down several times and it rebooted each time instead of

What method are you using to find the application in the dash? I assume
you're searching for the title of the app as it was displayed in the
menu? If you log out and log back into a normal gnome session, is the
item there in the gnome menu still? Can you also check to make sure
there is a .desktop

M22 [Mobility Radeon X300]. It freezes when I use software with 3D
acceleration as ppracer or Urban Terror. I use KMS system. And I use
kernel boot option

This appears to be a bug in libgl1-mesa-glx. When I downgerade to the previous
version:

the crash is fixed for me.

Have the same bug:
Motherboard - Asus P7P55D, Core i7 860.
Dual boot - Windows 7 Pro 64 bit + Ubuntu 10.04.
Network work well in Windows and work at first boot on Ubuntu. After
reboot network doesn't work neither Windows nor Ubuntu. Only motherboard
reset (take off the jumper) helps.
