Normal practice is to only ship generated files in the foo.tar.gz, not in
revision control. In the same way that firefox-4.0.source.tar.bz2 includes
configure, but mozilla-central doesn't.

What is the status on this bug after 7 years?
From what I understand (correct me if I am wrong) the solution is to install
either nscd or libnss-ldapd. While both of these seem to work, they are not
acceptable solutions because it affects the rest of the system.
