Upon investigating this a bit further, it seems the issue has to do with
the sort column and in particular the package in main/supported/logo
column. When sorting with this column, synaptic behaves excruciatingly
slow. Use any other column to sort and it's back to normal.

I tried to install VirtualBox, but the error mostly happens when stuff
gets compiled after a install. I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.38,

Note: It actually works for CDs - if I insert a CD, I can create a boot
USB for that. But for ISOs, it fails (and it shouldn't).
I can mount ISOs as directories without problem, so it's not that. Seems
the program fails when the user tries to add an ISO to the list and
that's all there is to it.
I haven't done more than described. For me it's the same on my amd64 PC
with nvidia proprietary driver evolution didn't work as described. On my

Let me try to clarify and help find the right plan of action:
1. the release is closed now
2. it can't go as a 0day-sru, because we would have to have a clear definition
of what to put in, and a clear test plan, and do that for the next week before
the release; i don't see that happen right now
Please open a new bug report, check and describe your problem as exactly
as possible (OS version, local vs remote files, ...) and attach some
typical Linguist files. Then I will try to reproduce it.

1) click the ubuntu logo on the top-left corner.
2) start a search (start typing on serch input)
3) click dash maximize button on the dash botton-right corner
4) when the dash maximize the typed charakters are dissapered.
