I'm confused. There are a lot of issues describing the same problem, but
when I commented on one of them, I was told that I had to open a new
bug, because kernel issues are specific to every hardware
I don't see the bug anymore. I'll just de-scope for now and mark
invalid. i'm not so sure there was a real fix for it, but it's more a
consequence of the numerous fixes that were made on compiz.

I had the same issue, but it's not really a bug imho, just an incomplete
repository. If you edit your /etc/apt/sources.list and change all
instances of ie.archive.ubuntu.com to archive.ubuntu.com then run
apt-get update apt-get upgrade you can get the missing packages from
that repo successfully

Well, the network name issue doesn't block the install anymore. But it
still wrongly reports that the network name exists already.
Worse: with the daily build of 20-4, Ubiquity apparently doesn't
recognize the hard disk anymore, so it hangs in the slide show: no
partitioning proposal.

My video card is a nvidia 7300 LE and I get the freeze in unity some
seconds after the login.With driver version 270.41.06 nothing is
displayed on screen, I'm able to move the mouse pointer but I can't do
anything else...with driver version 173.14.30 it seems to me that
everything works out
Fix works for me, scolling is fine, nice and smooth. All icons are
visible.

I have the same problem with a Dell Studio XPS.
When it resumes the disk light is continuously on and you can hear it
seeking. The system is paging in processes, I don't know what it's done
to the processes memory when it suspends but when it's resuming you can
see the process size increasing

I am not able to reproduce this problem here. I have several tabs opened
in firefox and terminal and switching between them is updating the title
as it should(Note: this is the maximized case). Did you try to logout
and then reproduce the issue?

I can confirm this bug, too. But I would need the fglrx driver working,
because the radeon-HDMI-sound output does not work. It did in Maverick.

Howdy,
To Steve Langasek, the change took place in Maverick. I have a Via C3 based
thin client that I use as a samba server and to demonstrate Ubuntu. The
release notes for Maverick say With 10.10 we have also dropped support for
i586 and lower processors, as well as i686 processors without
