It looks to be irregular behavior.
The test goes like this:
Try to scan 1 - fail.
Start a new document, discard the previous.

I always use normal resizing with compiz before, but when I upgraded-it
to 11.04, with the new compiz, I got a very very slow resize about to
one or two frame/second. I use now the rectangle before the fix. I hope
this will be solved before 11.10
my compiz version is: 1:0.9.4
A slight decrease in power usage, dropping from 33 to 30.5 Watts
according to powertop on a Thinkpad R500. Better than nothing, but still
a long way from the sub 20 Watts I used to be able to get with ubuntu
10.04 and before.

I booted using Natty live USB and it booted succesfully to Unity
interface with out proprietary drivers. It is quite possible that this
issue was caused by the previously installed ATI driver which is not
willing to leave the system.
I will try to make Lucid live USB to test open source ATI driver
I'm setting this bug to triaged as I think the solution should be more
discoverable. I'm not however sure how to accomplish that, open to
suggestions.
