Ah. We seem to be thinking along the same lines. I saw the same nvidia- common issue in the log. jockey did not think I was running nvidia- current, but I certainly was. I reinstalled nvidia-common and nvidia- settings, then reinstalled the headers and image. I am now running the current image :).
