For some reason the setup consider me a netbook user (1920x1200) and mess up my

Only the Ubuntu Classic setting seems a little better, but applications do

I experienced this, I created two launchers for two versions of eclipse,
one of them turn up the icon but another one is a question mark. Both of
these showed up with the correct icons in Nautilus. Upon closer
comparison, it seems that it might be related to the locale? I have

There's a transition happening from /var/run to /run see bug #807306. In
my case the update that was supposed to handle this transition didn't
work.

(i) create directories /run and /run/lock,
(ii) move contents of /var/run into /run
ummm... I think if Canonical associate with another Linux app stores (there

filenames are not escaped when I tab-complete Mercurial commands (like
hg add ...). A very old version of Mercurial on Lucid had the escaping
problem; when I installed a new PPA version the problem was fixed. Now

Good way to reduce the 8 bugs: wait for the support period to
expire.
I don't plan to file bug reports any more, because there are too many
for Canonical to deal with and they only work on the really big
problems.
