Just leaving a comment here for reference - it's not really clear what's
going on here, the only thing that calls through to CompWindow::priv->id
is line 1563 here, and that should be a safe line unless something else
is overwriting the internal window reference somewhere else.

locale. I picked my example quite carefully: "I speak English and I
live in Switzerland" isn't enough to isolate a single locale
representing the location, for instance, so the installer would have to

Since switching to oneiric vi completion is awful. If I am in my home
directory then vi followed by tab will not list a single file, even if I
type part of a filename (eg no for nohup.out). Similarly it won't do
anything for 'vi /etc/fs' which should complete to /etc/fstab.
It happened very suddenly, it was working fine before today. Now Evince
is opening only the pdf and I have to stretch it and play with it to see
my documents.

Does it make sure that the value is a valid locale name? I ask since GDM in
Natty (and in case of backports also in Lucid and Maverick) uses the ~/.dmrc
"Language" field for storing language denotations such as 'es_ES' or 'de', i.e.
not for storing locale names.

Trying to install Lubuntu 11.10 on an Apple PowerBook G4 (PPC), I
continue to have this problem.
Unlike the problem I had with pygobject, I couldn't simply apt-get
install choose-mirror to get around it. apt-get can't seem to find
