I found out that a update to libcairo2 version
1.11.3+git2009.90b2fd34-0ubuntu0ricotz lead to this problem. Downgrading
back to version libcairo2_1.11.3+git20111015.3813066f-0ubuntu1~11.10~ricotz0
the gtk+ apps got rendered right on the screen.

Jacek, I can confirm this issue including the heave impact as indicated
above. This problem has consumed considerable amount of people's
lifetime already and is exposed to eat up a lot of other's so please
help us getting this addressed and fixed in lucid, natty, oneiric.

The current cloudprint package uses the deprecated python-support, this
needs moving to dh_python2. Also, I really want to avoid running yet
another python daemon in the user session. Can this be rewritten in C,
Vala, or integrated into gnome-settings-daemon etc.? We just try to get
rid of the two
Yes, I don't think we need cloudprint at all, we can perfectly have this
functionality in g-s-d. It would be great though to have a security
review of the current cloudprint.

When I've upgraded my ubuntu and got firefox 7.0.1 I've unexpectedly
lost the possibility to paste URLs directly into browser window. That
possibility is more than very useful as I don't have to do lot of things

/sbin/halt didn't work neither from kdm nor from konsole
/sbin/halt -p didn't work too.
I had to replace /sbin/halt in kdm with /sbin/shutdown -h now

Compiz memory
Hello,
since I had the same problem and am now successfully on 11.10 without
issues, the fix whatever it was has worked. Back-porting might be good
if it's not too much work because it isn't confidence inducing if your
PC powers-off as if it short-circuited.

Confirmed in 12.04 Precise Pangolin as well - I agree that perhaps the
gtk2-engines-pixbuf package should be added to the dependencies for
light-themes, as it obviously references it. Alternatively, the source
of the errors should be fixed so that the package isn't needed.

I have the same problem. After a fresh boot the system is fast and
snappy (compiz is using about 100-150mb of RAM at that point), but after
an hour or so of usage window dragging becomes really laggy and
irritating. Compiz is now at 290mb of RAM and increasing with usage.

Alps touchpad is
When I deleted this file nautilus (file manager) is launched after mount.
It is better, but I did not expect any automatic action.
Maybe problem is in file .gconf/apps/nautilus/preferences/%gconf.xml
which I've attached.
