I have not tested this setup with another version of Ubuntu, so I don't
know if it's a new bug.
This being natty I was also unable to test the 3.2 release candidates (I
tried anyway but got into trouble for doing so...) so I have to flag
this one as kernel-unable-to-test-upstream.

I got rid of Unity / Gnome and switched to Lubuntu. The sound bug is
gone.

alex seb128: seems a bit simple to me, we don't want to construct a new
object each time, rather we want one per screen
setting as needswork and unsubscribing the sponsors for now, that
needs to be reworked, do you think you could look at doing what alex
(unsubcribing ubuntu-sponsors, Colin seems to be on it and the patch is
not ready for sponsoring)

Just in case (from reading other related bugs) my proxy does NOT need
authentication.
