I think the best solution for 12.04 is to blacklist Lotus Notes from the
appmenu. I've proposed a patch to do this in appmenu-gtk.

The Ubuntu 10.04 distributed with AMI ami-cc0e3cb8 (64bit) on EC2 EU-
West contains a bug with setting hostname/IPs on start/stop. It keeps
the old hostname.
We have seen this on 32bit as well, but we did not confirm this for this
bug report.

While the bindfs-dependency is obviously wrong, you could also repackage
fuse-utils to include Provides: fuse in DEBIAN/control.
