I have the same issue - and I've been trying to report it for ages but
the Launchpad janitor kept closing it.
For me in a normal unity session it results in a reduced graphical
interface and the only solution is to log out and back in again to
reload gnome settings daemon.

I would like to add that this bug is actually much more obtrusive than
my original comment makes it out to be.
1) Any time network manager has a hard time connecting to a router--even if I'm
right next to the router and, for example, the router gets unplugged and
rebooted--it seems to think

I'm running precise unity; as of recently it's not responding to
multitouch gestures such as using three fingers to drag windows. I did
run `unity --reset` recently. Two-finger drag scroll is working. I'm
using an apple magic trackpad.
