I don't get either why the cycling works for ctrl-alt-5, but not for
ctrl-alt-4 and ctrl-alt-6, which are much more useful.

pae kernel running fine on my non-pae flag IBM Thinkpad T40 1.5 gHz

Finally, I can enable it to work. ALSA team didn't answer to me although
I posted to them.
