I've done several successful suspend/resumes with the 3.3rc6 kernel,
using Xubuntu, Ubuntu, and Ubuntu 2D sessions. No failed resumes. I
think it likely that I would have triggered the blank-screen bug at
least once if I had been running the 3.0.0.16 kernel during that time.

That is odd...I'm running up-to-date Precise, and I definitely have the
switch user button. Have you disabled the display of the guest account
in the lightdm configuration?

Machine seemed to hang up when I disconnected from the network. Also
