Flashing keyboard lights are the symptom for a general class of problems:
kernel panics. In order to fix this issue we first have to narrow down what is

I'm running a 32bit system too, same prob. Happened after reboot following
after update using update manager.
Usually use terminal yo update/upgrade, so not aware if this is a regular
occurrence.

Asus UX31E here - patched kernel from #22 fixes kernel oops during boot,
and hotkeys and suspend are again working.
