I doubt you've really tested it successfully via NFS as Ubuntu's
Kickstart implementation doesn't support NFS installation. :-) It
probably defaulted to installing from the usual network archives or
something.

Update-manager opens a Changelog window, that stops with /tmp/tmp/ and
different symbols every time. I usuallly cut it (ctrl-c) and do the update in
Synaptic (wich also opens a changelog window, but allows me to close it and do
the actual update), today I pressed esc to get rid of the changelog
I only closed the kernel/linux task, not the xorg one. Maybe I was wrong
with that, in which case it can be set back to open. But it looked like
the remaining problems where not in kernel modules but in the synaptics
driver.
