Ok, I've tested this with making the change in a mutter gconf defaults
and the shortcut works for all of the GNOME Unity desktops.
Since mutter isn't translated by LP, the string Launch Terminal
visible in the Custom Keyboard Shortcuts part of System Settings won't
be translated at all for GNOME
After recent unity updates there is a worse case example of g-c-c UI and it's
components.
Afaik and in fact HUD appears with Alt-key.
Beside that the shortcut is wrong in g-c-c (983116):
- with german locale, the description in g-c-c [Component: Keyboard] says
something about what HUD should do

Dodge windows
Dear Mr. Penalver,
I'm afraid that since reporting this bug I've upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04,
and I no longer experience this problem. I had a little trouble with

Ok, thank you very much (sorry for my impatience in the hastily written
messages above while I was logging in to vpn).
If I create an empty .d directory, and run dconf update it creates
61-byte database files and all is ok.
So this bug is similar to the other one mentioned, in that it is a real
