OK, I am getting past the login screen, no spinning wheel anymore,

I can't seem to discern a pattern - I just created fourt test

Here is a rough-and-ready patch, to SoftwarePropertiesGtk.py, that
catches the PermissionDeniedByPolicy exceptions.

Title:
I tried 295.20 (uninstalled jockey and nvidia-*) and still experience
the same problem of a slowdown after a period, although perhaps it is
slightly less severe.
I forgot to say that I am running xubuntu 12.04.

This is a race condition in httplib2, but we can probably fix it in
piston-mini-client via a try/except os.makedirs() if the cachedir does
not exists.
