After removing/uninstalling all Ubuntu One packages as suggested by
cheribibi and Daniel in posts #16 and #17 respectively, I now see only
one new .goutputstream-* file in my /home every morning when I turn on
my computer. The Properties of all my .goutputstream-* files show that
their size is 0

I get this too sometimes, but sometimes it's fine. I'm not sure, but
perhaps this happens only with system crashes? i.e. those where apport
requires you to type in your administrator password?

Could everyone still having the problem check if an ICC profile is set
for his display by running:
xprop -root | grep ICC_PROFILE
If none is set the grep should be empty (besides a possible
_ICC_PROFILE_IN_X_VERSION entry).
