gphoto fails to download image from camera

Either a switch between text console and graphic console or a suspend/resume
can reproduce this issue.
2) Frequency of the problem (always, 1/10 times, etc)

I believe this issue is not related to platforms.

Just looked and I see that NetworkManager runs at niceness level 0. I
wonder if NM should be a little less nice.
Does it help if you add
nice -5
to /etc/init/network-manager.conf (say, on the line after respawn) and
then do
sudo restart network-manager
?

update-grub and os-prober detects only one O/S, the one located on
sdb1 while Ubuntu was intact on both disks. That may be (?) related to
