When you kill dell-bluetooth, it also hard blocks 'Wireless LAN'.
This should NOT be the case and only block your bluetooth.

One workaround is using this command (as normal user)
udisks --mount /dev/fd0
to mount a floppy, then it can be safely detached via GUI (e.g. in
nautilus, right click the floppy icon...).
Once can create a .desktop file to run the command and drag&drop it onto
the unity launcher.

I took the time to write the above blurb because was tired of having the
graphics system unresponsive/unavailable after opening the lid.

related settings in Power Options, and now when I test again for
