I am no longer using Linux on this Laptop since I got a MacBook Air but
it was still a problem 2 weeks ago. I was running Ubuntu 12.04 with all
of the latest updates.
Maybe someone else who is subscribed to this bug can get the info you

Could you just test the common ethernet interface function instead of vlan
802.1q
