To start with kernel testing, I originally reported it under 11.10, but
I can confirm it occurs under 12.04:

Bypassed using ffmpegthumbnailer:
1. sudo apt-get install ffmpegthumbnailer
2. sudo cp /usr/share/thumbnailers/totem.thumbnailer ~/totem.thumbnailer .bak
3. sudo gedit /usr/share/thumbnailers/totem.thumbnailer
4. replace the text with this one:

by installing manually greenlet-win32:
