This issue of having to push against the edge is a real problem running
a virtual machine in a window as the mouse simply moves out of the
screen. There is no concept of pushing against anything. Please bring
back the option to simply hover within a few pixels of the screen edge
to active un-hide.

The patch doesn't fully solve the problem for me. I have attached
another PDF file (which only contains one math formula) with which I
still can reproduce the issue.
When I try to select the Sigma ("∑") in Evince, limits ("m=0" and "∞")
disappear;
I am not sure how to fix the problem with the Gamma glyph not being
selectable. It is not selectable because it has a zero width, because
there is no Widths array in the file. This is a violation of the spec.
Poppler has a mechanism to provide default widths, but this does not
work for symbols.

Has someone digged into solving this bug?
With a fresh 12.04.1 install + post-release version of fglrx this bug
affects me as well. I haven't tried the workaround/solution posted by
htrex yet, but I assume that these problems should not be tolerated on
an LTS that has been released for months now
