is not installed, but there is network (pings succeed.)

Okay, um, I guess this is NOT a bug, but rather an oversight on my part with
configuration.
It appears that I needed to install the additional package, gvfs-backends, to
make things work.

For no reason my wifi connection slowed down. I had less than 1B/s. I
solved the issue by doing :
