Pressing ALT does not show menu items:
When this new version builds successfully, will it also fix the non-
appearance of menu items when ALT is pressed? I raised this in #52, but
I could not tell if the reference to another bug in #53 was in answer to

I confirm that Nick Andrick's solution works for me.
I have hybrid ati/intel graphics . downgrading the intel driver through his PPA
as described
in
http://askubuntu.com/questions/202857/cant-install-ati-proprietary-drivers-in-12-10/207270#207270
Solves my problem.
So I suggest you bug fixing

1. guake
2. /bin/sleep 20 && guake
3. sh $HOME/.guake
.guake is easy script, i tried to write output of guake, but it writes nothing:

"Installed-Size" header in most Ubuntu packages from main section is
still incorrect, even in latest Ubuntu release - 12.10:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ dpkg -s ubuntu-docs|grep "Installed-Size"

While actual size of all installed files is less than 2 megabytes !

totem and smplayer are fine but when I play a movie with or chat in skype I get

I've made a backup of my data and formatted and reinstalled 12.10. After
a fresh reinstall the problem seems to be solved. But after going into
the software updater and updating all software the issue is back again.
I've narrowed it down to being one of the Compiz updates that's causing
the issue.
