As nothing was received from running ubuntu-bug `pidof compiz` I think
that on crashing my network also was disabled. Also when choosing keep
instead of upload the tmp folder suggested was not created.

May be that he bug occurs only with Asus motherboards. I have tow
machines with same Ubuntu and kernel an only the Asus Zenbook has that
bug. But I guess, that the problem is related with some power saving
options of the kernel. Because it seems only to occur when my computer
runs on battery.

I experienced the same issue on my labtop (running ubuntu 12.10). I
switched from unity to xfce4, and when I opened up terminal to type
commands in, none of the text appeared. I disabled use colors from
system theme as was recommended above, and this fixed the issue for me.

David from Canonical answered my question on which packages to install.
I downloaded the *.deb into 1 directory and typed:
$ sudo dpkg -i *.deb
I restarted my machine and it was like magic. IT WORKED!! MY MACHINE
NOW HAS FULL WIRED NETWORK ACCESS!!
I uninstalled this test kernel.

essentially means that programs can't use ACLs. But at least we now know
the root cause, so let's make udisks resistant to that.
For the record, this is another consequence of not using /run/media/. At
some point I'd like to move
Mounting as ext4 enables acl by default, but mounting as ext3 doesn't
(see the linux kernel documentation).
