And just remove the vanishing functionality completely. its not like

Yes the kernel I posed at
http://people.canonical.com/~jsalisbury/lp992720 had an rc4 tag in the
name. That is because they are built during the bisect process, which
does a process of elimination jumping from newer to older kernels.
The v3.8 kernel is now avaiable. Can you test that
