Running nautilus under root does not auto-mount the ipad under /root/.gvfs!

Good afternoon. After a kernel upgrade yesterday I am unable to boot
into 12.04.1 again. I managed to boot in initially using nomodeset
and reinstalled my Nvidia drivers (310.## I believe). However, now I
simply get stuck after a loading swap message.
Is there any new information on this issue?
