After last update (28 February 2013) Kwin and Compiz can't start. On
Unity I dont have sidebar and upper panel. On KDE panels are black (no
transparency). Glxgears exit with following error:

I agree with comment #2 - the current behaviour is not user friendly.
Displaying ### doesn't make it obvious that the column is too narrow, it

Confirmed here too. Having trouble using 12.10 gvfs SMB client talking
to an Ubuntu 12.10 Samba server. Stalls when copying directory
structures to server. There is gigabit networking between nodes.

That's the less severe case where we get some garbage whilst reading the
EDID and replace it with a default set of modes. For this EDID error, I
think we can make it try harder once we know we have a valid EDID
header.

The loss of the keyboard short-cut hints to the right (left for bidi
languages) of gvim menus occurs when it is using the Unity global menus.
When starting gvim such that it uses its own window menus the short-cut
hints are present. Starting gvim using Alt+F2 then gvim, or from a
