Restarting the computer seems to have fixed the problem, at least
temporarily. I think a previous restart may have also fixed the problem
once before. Not completely sure, but I do know that Rhythmbox has a lot
of updates/upgrades, some to plugins and such, so maybe these just need
a full restart.
Thanks Tim...it took me a while to reconfigure samba in Raring.
However, in the end I found that my problem was corrected by the printer
debugging information you referenced.
The two printers I was having trouble with were Canon models ImageClass
MF4150 and Pixma iP6000D. After testing, my

the above data is from running on the flash drive, but I also get
similar results from Beta 1 installed with all updates.
also, on 12.10 I got similar results when running the generic kernel.
have not yet tried the generic kernel on 13.04 but would expect it will
behave the same based on
