Setting "Detail = Low" in /etc/logwatch/conf/logwatch.conf removed most of the
lines.
I'm not sure what the default level is after installation, so sorry if this was
a self-produced bug.
Maybe it's still a good idea to adjust the log for those who set the level
higher.

I am experiencing this problem now as well. I am running on a "sputnik"
the 1080p version. kernel 3.8.0-23-generic . When I turn
apci_backlight=vendor then I can adjust the brightness to either lowest
or hightest using the /sys/class/backlight.../brightness interface.
However, when I use the defaul
I should also note if I set brightness (using
/sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness) to anything other than
4882 or 0 it occilates between 2 values constantly. I assume this is
because several subsystems are fighting?

certain programs such as sudo and vlock, the libpam-yubico module fails
with an error and authentication does not continue. This can create a

Today, I got down the latest source to the Ubuntu kernel and took a look
at what was changed that broke the brightness control. On April 8th,
they decided to take out a line that applied to Ivy Bridge processors in
the file drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c. I put the line back in,
recompiled

In Xubuntu 13.04, I have been experiencing instances where xfce4-session
will, for no given reason or warning, kill itself, bringing me back to
the login screen (lightdm-gtk-greeter). I have searched through
tracebacks and have found no explainable reason for this.

I've noticed that when the audio starts to get choppy, and repeats
really quickly, if I wiggle my mouse, the audio continues as normal.
Very strange.

As it stands now you only have "remote-content-search" 'all or 'none'
That seems overly permissive or restrictive
Users should have the choice to allow some scopes to do remote searches &
disallow others as they see fit.

Gpu hangs randomly approx. every few days

The screen freezes randomly. When I open tty2, dmesg reports:
[drm:i915_hangcheck_hung] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
I can't seem to reproduce this consistently - it happens randomly: when
playing video, when working normally on the desktop. There doesn't seem
@David I'm glad to know this has been fixed upstream. Thanks for the
update.
