You didn't say how many data values per sample you were using. From
looking at the data, it appears to be one (i.e., mono).
can you post the output of alsa-info.sh ?
do the new driver provide headphone playback volume and speaker playback
volume controls ?

Same problem here. I can play sounds with FTP but no signal at the
inputs.

I'm also affected by this bug, and am trying Vishnu's solution.
In the meantime, you can use 13.04 by selecting the 3.5 kernel from Grub
at boot.
