After upgrading 13.04 to 13.10 this problem affects me too.
I use French keyboard layouts, but Unity always in English keyboards layouts,
even if i have removed it in system config.
French keyboard is selected but i have to select it again and it works.

In some older discussion on other fora I found that HDMI output sometimes
causes this problem.
Test: setting my analog output to HDMI also broke my normal sound. So

The problem (or at least the first one), is the front channel DAC.
Official emu20k2 cards use CS4382 on all channels, so that's the only DAC the
driver has code for.
Auzentech Forte has an AK4396VF on front channels, and CS4382 for other
channels (which all work correctly).

XMir temporarily, the error (and several others that cropped up in the

I have just followed the procedure of
1) Download Firefox-24.0 English(UK) version for Linux
2) Download Firefox-24.0 English(UK) version for Linux again and compare just
to be sure I didn't accidentally get the wrong one
3) Check environment and observe LANG=en_
It is strange indeed. In the unlock computer password screen (after
sleep) the old Alt+Shift that I used to change layouts is strangly
working. On the other hand the super+space does not work at all. The
super key in Ubuntu does lots of thinks already (opening dash opening
help menu HUD ) I mean wh

I'd just like to add my support for this to be a proper configuration
option. I just want my terminals to be the 80x25 size, and this feature
(TerminalColumns, TerminalRows) is undiscoverable right now.

I was able to get UEFI working with kernel 3.11.0-12-generic on my XPS
13 L322x HD
I booted into my XPS bios setup, navigated to the boot tab, and
configure the setting as below;
Secure Boot: Disable
Load Legacy Option Rom: Enabled
Boot List Option: UEFI
