I can confirm this bug still exists in 13.10.
On my current machine, it has existed for years now, but it does not
seem to be a problem on other machines I have.
Maybe this is an old broken setting that is never deleted during upgrades? (I
haven't done a reinstall since 10.04, only upgrades).
I've install Ubuntu Saucy in Virtualbox to try this, but failed. Always saying
in debug something like credential not found.
Tried to understand why, and found out that it's because, in Saucy, the name of
the app (for authentication) was changed from Ubuntu Software Center to

Still happening after all these years. /me sighs.
I confirm this is still happening on Saucy. I've never had any *buntu in which

The sound menu uses MPRIS to find out about and communicate with media
players on the system. MPRIS doesn't support passing the timestamp of
the click to the media player, which is needed for focus stealing

On playback I get a rough static that crackles corresponding to the
