package libxatracker2 (source package mesa). If I apt-mark hold that
binary package and dist-upgrade everything else, all is good. If I then

I had that problem on one of my computers where I installed the CUDA
development system. The CUDA installs its own libraries and the
libvdpau_nvidia.so library was not getting used!
I used the following command to remove the "offensive" vdpau library:
sudo rm /usr/lib/libvdpau.so /usr/lib/libv
I just upgraded to 13.10 and have the same problem. Come on, guys. You
can't break important stuff like this. One of the reasons I use Ubuntu
is that it has, at least up to now, had excellent foreign language
support. Please at least fix this for the LTS release in April.

Thank you for the reminder! Unfortunately, I am unable to replicate the
test anymore because recently, I've made physical hardware changes to
the system. I also went ahead and upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 soon after
it was released.

Well found a copy but hope it gives more infomation for ya's to help ya out but
i was testing the new Kernel 3.13 rc-7 and on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
got a error while running at start up black screen though and mouse as X

My patch would break tvout support for other cards so I won`t submit it
as a patch. I can say I found the problem and have locally fixed it. In
the kernel code there is "kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_tv.c" that
has a function called "intel_tv_init( struct drm_device *dev)" at the
line +-1550. I
I just get this error when I run updates, but I don't really know what it
means.
Apart from that it's been running normal, I think.
I was able to fix other bugs before through Launchpad.
