I am having the same issue, with Kernel 3.14.1 from the Kernel PPA on Ubuntu
14.04.
My Laptop is Lenovo IdeaPad u330p (Sold in Germany via Amazon).
I also can't use the latest firmware version iwlwifi-7260-ucode-22.212.9.0,
which won't load using this Kernel.
Hopefully we see some improve

The only catch is that you have to modify your .ovpn file to use

Since installing Ubuntu 14.04, onto a HP Pavilion dv8t-1200 (WF681AV)
laptop, the unity desktop is freezing a couple of times each day.
Typically at first, I'm able to move my mouse-cursor, but after a few
seconds that freezes up too.

Well, my machine now refuses to boot up. Added a couple of photos of
the error messages on the screen, but I've turned it off by holding the
power button in for a few seconds now and am ready to throw the thing in
the bin, so have returned to my trusty MacBook Pro for now (old, running
OS X 10.5.8

Confirmed in Trusty. This needs checking on Debian, and perhaps
submission to the Debian BTS.
Marking Importance: Medium since there's an easy workaround available
(modify /etc/init.d/nginx).

Good news, the fixes where uploaded to Debian and will be synced to the
development version of Ubuntu (Utopic)!

Steeve Cottin, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. Would the ethernet work in an installed environment without
install drivers from Realtek, or would you have to utilize the drivers
from Realtek's website just to get the LED to blink?
